About Me
My name is Shaila Dominguez. I am the proud owner and founder of Border Paws Dog Rescue. I am also the Executive Director!
My love and passion for helping animals started with shadowing my mother who is a dog trainer. Through this, I found my passion and started my work with rescue in 2017, when I was 16 years old. My life is dedicated to rescuing dogs. It is a very cruel world we live in, and my goal is to help as many dogs as I can.
The dogs we rescue typically come from out of state and some have even come from other countries! Our mission is primarily focused on bringing in rescues from the south. We often get asked ‘Why?’ It’s not close and requires help from multiple transporters. The simple fact is, the south has it worse than any other place in the U.S. right now. They need our help.
This rescue would not be possible without our amazing supporters! 🤍 🐾
About Me
My name is Angela Guy and I am 22 years old. I am the Board President of Border Paws!
I have always had a passion to help dogs in any way that I could. I started fostering dogs for Border Paws in September of 2022, I’ve fostered 24 dogs since and adopted one.
I began to help out with transports, events, and the care of dogs. Which eventually led to me getting promoted to board president, and being a part of the hard dedication that is put into this organization!
About Me
Chrystal Herring, Board Secretary
My name is Chrystal and I am the Board Secretary of Border Paws! I have two dogs named Scout and Mako, and a cat named Tt. They are my children and quite possibly the most spoiled animals in the world. I served 7 years in the Air Force as a Medical Technician, and am now loving my time working with dogs! My passion for dogs started as a child, but really grew when my husband and I rescued a pup and needed help with his behavior. We hired a trainer duo, who turned out to be Shaila and her Mom! Through their selflessness and countless hours spent with me I learned so much about the world of dogs and knew I had to be involved. I am passionate about all pups, though I have a special place in my heart for the reactive ones and muzzle training. My Mako is a dog reactive pit bull who lives a very full life ‘attacking’ us with kisses and thrives wearing his muzzle in public. I believe all dogs deserve a chance at life and I am so proud to be part of an organization that works as hard as it does to make this a reality for all possible. Though the military pulled me away from working in person at Border Paws, I’m right here in the background helping remotely and so happy to be here!
